| Well here we go then Keeping it short is normally my main objective, but usually it may be a bit longer than expected, okay! Here is how it all began: Back in 1976 when I was born my first dinosaur well was not a dinosaur to some point it was this 1976 Dimetrodon from the brand Imperial: As you see it's dated 1976, my birth year xDD You will have to click to enlarge it,to see 1976 printed under the Imperial Logo It was probably given to me at birth, I truly can't remember but yeah it probably triggered my future to collect dinosaurs, I also was given a big rubber snake my mother told me, but even that is all way too vague. to even remember hehe From 1980 to about 1995 I collected Chinasaurs & Dinosaurs alike, ya know them everyday rubber and plastic dinosaurs you could buy all over the place, not only dino's but also the odd looking dragons, monsters, snakes, lizards, crocs, snakes, rats, mammals, sharks and gators! You name it, ghost busters toys it all added up to these four boxes: Which I have sold to my partner Tyrantqueen and my Sister for her 6 year old son But it is fun to show what these boxed have in them hehe, this was before and during my Dino-Riders collecting days. Box One: Box Two: Box Three: Box Four: Here the Dino-Riders Collection: Top Row: Middle Row: Bottom Row Complete: As you can see my oldest prehistoric reptile, the 1976 Imperial Dimetrodon can also be seen in that collection, and it still gives me many good memories. Around 1989 when I had a lot of Dino-Riders and many of these Chinasaurs, my Karate Shihan Sir Alan Burdett organized an interview of me and my Dino collection in the Bunbury Mail, which was the biggest Dino collection known in Western Australia of that time, I had 286 Dino's then and yeah I have a picture of this day too: And nowadays I collect models from CollectA, Schleich, Papao, Kaiyodo, Colorata and Carnegie/Safari Ltd, these models are very accurate and good Dino models are finally easy to find these days. AS Growing and taking care of Orchids, I also made a display here or some call a Diorama, well it's not a real diorama but that large Amethyst which I bought @ Grottes Du tarn in France is the center of everything and it lured all my Steggies and that Spino also. Here from the left Here a nice closeup My favorite Dinosaurs are the Stegosaurids which I nickname Steggies, I just love them, as for favorite prehistoric reptile that ever lived the Tylosaurus Proriger which you can see in the bottom row of the Dino-Riders collection as I have the Carnegie/Safari Ltd Tylosaurus Proriger Tyrantqueen also sent me these two beautiful Pliosaurs as a gift of a lifetime friendship, as I have also given her some gifts that were very Dino based, we often give each others things like this, I it's so cool we have the same hobby and yes my friends miracles they do exist, anyways we believe in miracles <3 She gave me these two the Carnegie/Safarie Ltd Kronosaurus a probably one of the best Kronosaurus mdoels I seen so far and the rare and famous Liopleurodoon from Invicta the monochrome one, these were famous in the late 80's and it's still one of the best sculpted Liopleurodons I ahve seen alongside the Safari Ltd Liopleurodon which can be seen in the Bottomrom of my DR collection also Rear view: And another view of the other side I have so much MOAR to show you people here, but that part is mainly based on books, as for the Dino's I have forgotten I will edit this post or post them as later forgotten ones hahah All pics are clickable to larger ones, so if you have high bandwidth connections feel free to enjoy all my pics at their highest qualities! | |

| Today this Scale 1:35 Suchomimus tenerensis Resin kit from Galileo Hernandez arrived from Mexico: Closup of the main body: Closeup of the other parts: Many thanks go to weez1990 for finding me this resin, only it took like about 2 to 3 months to arrive, the seller is also the maker of this resin, he isn't fast as shipping goes, which I head from other buyers and it seems this is why it arrived so late, but it all looks good and I plan to make this one day, just gotta learn how haha | |

| Hello everyone This is gonna be a fun thread, well I hope so! Since this is the first resin in my entire life, I also have some questions to pass along, about using Gap Fillers, Putty or say Plumbers Epoxy? Odd looking stuff to me, it's white and it can be used to fill gaps which weez1990 very clearly explained me, but all in all this is very new to me so a log like this one may provide me of helpful use for later builds So as the gap filler goes I bought a Laminate Crack filler, since resins like Laminate is made of a plasticized substance I think it will do well, I went for white coloured gap filler, since it's the most neutral colour I could choose from. The description is dutch but it tells me I can fill gaps of 1mm thick, so I think I should be okay with it, I just wonder how I should use it haha, I thought at first with my fingers and as weez1990 advised me to use water to thin it out and such, still figuring this all out in the end haha oh dear. : So here some pics of how far I got today, didn't do much than just glue his arms, legs, tail and top part of the skull first, just like weez1990 told me to do,I used Loctite SuperGlue, similar to Gorilla SuperGlue: Here Mr. Such from the left side: Here a closeup of his tail, left arm & leg and upper skull: Here from the right side: Here a closeup of his tail, right arm & leg and upper skull: Here a closeup of his tail and his left leg: The following two pictures will show you some hard to reach seams, I could use some help here on how to get my putty in that place and gently spread it out too. Here the right leg showing it's inner placed seam: And here the left leg showing a similar thing, only the gap is a bit bigger here: For me it is very hard to see what I am doing I guess, I can't see 3D, so hereby making certain calculations is extremely hard, on how much I should remove on a certain angle. Anyways I hope I can deal with these seams safely thereby I hope I have not messed it up The reason I didn't glue is bottom jaw yet, is because I can pain his gums, tongue and teeth much easier this way Another handy tip weez1990 told me, so kind of her hihi And yeah it has some barbs here and there, I do plan on getting rid of those with sand paper or something similar Any helpful advise and reply would be very welcome thanks!

| Oh, this looks nice I can give some advice, but sadly these things are best demonstrated in person :S I'm not sure what exactly the kind of putty you're using and how it behaves, it is a paste type substance? The putty I use is more like Playdough... This is what mine looks like XD It's a two part epoxy Of course the stuff you're using should be fine too. I would recommend that you use a cocktail stick or something similar to poke the filler into the cracks where you want it to go. Also use some water to smooth it down so it blends in with the surrounding resin If you accidentally use too much filler then just scrape it away with the cocktail stick. Unless the tube has a nozzle then you can just squeeze it between the cracks hehe Cocktail sticks are still useful though. It's impossible to do this with your hands XD Let me know if you need more help and I'll try to explain more. Sorry if this is a lot to read but I tried to be as detailed as I could :X Btw by cocktail sticks I mean these. They're also known as toothpicks in the US. | |
