| hi
I have been missing some open games lately because I do not have the level files and they are not in any of the familiar places - I presume they are new maps maybe...
Anyway - I also assume these games are being organized on Mumble - which does not work for me. I have installed and used Mumble maybe half a dozen times and it causes my Mac to run like molasses, even when Mumble is not running... I tried again a few days ago - thought I had the problem solved - but no :-/
Is there another way? | |

| yeah - I am aware of all of those. Last night, for example, I couldn't find Tylo's "Swiss Cheese" map anywhere. I checked Rangers pack, DMDB, Pootermans, and Rangers dropbox... forgot Koolbear's... maybe the zip file has a different name...
oh well... | |

| Yeah, a lot of the time mumblers sit and deploy maps for testing, win which case, they share it via dropbox via mumble, and do their local test. In almost every case if not in every, when the tested map is ready it comes up in dmdb. dmdb is the source for super-fresh maps. When they finish testing that is. | |

| yeah - I know it is my old system's non-compatability with Mumble that is causing the problems, and it is my problem to deal with not anyone else's... Unfortunately, with the monthly bills that keep coming, and living in a home-improvement environment, I will not be able to justify getting a new system until it starts affecting my work, which it hasn't done yet - still does what I need it to do... (mostly sheet music production and a bit of sound engineering).
I just hope I am not pissing everyone else off with the joining games late, dropping packets etc. ;-) | |
